You should rent this movie just for the opportunity to see the butt of the new Gov. of CA. How many other state governess would ever appear in a film that way?
Lights, camera, ACTION! From start to finish this is an action movie. There's only enough of a plot to hold the action scenes together and that's about all it does. I haven't seen Terminator 2 since it was in theaters but as I recall, T3 and T2 seemed pretty darned similar except that the 'bad robot' in this movie (T-X) is a woman.
The woman, Kristanna Loken, that plays T-X in this movie does an excellent job of not conveying any emotion throughout the movie as does Arnold. I couldn't quite get into the performance by Nick Stahl as John Connor, but Clair Danes was spiffy as Kate Brewster.
Did I mention this was an action movie? The action scenes rocked! The crane chase scene is worth the price of the DVD rental alone. I watched this movie while riding the trainer for 2 hrs. and never once felt bored with the action.
Cussing was minimal. They dropped the F bomb a few times, so I'm sure that's what got it an R rating. The violence wasn't overly gross like a horror movie. There was only one scene that was a little but the rest was pretty much blowing stuff up and wrecking cars/trucks/cranes/whatever.
For the action, I'd give it
but for the plot, a mere

Update :: Mrs. H watched this movie last night and she thought the violence was a little too much and that the scene I thought was kinda gross was really gross.

Just got the DVD yesterday, and you're right the crane chase was super cool.
Very good action packed movie

Big fan of the Terminator movies and finally had the chance to watch the third one last night. Definitely what PH said, lights camera...action! At times, the director seemed to have the need to explain sequences which was reather because the storyline is flimsy, at best. The first Terminator flick is still my all time favorite, low budget and all. the second one was good, and I'd say the third one is on par with the second one. I loved the thrill and had a good time watching it.

I thought it was pretty good.
Wasn't great, but wasn't that bad, either.
