What's the most that you've spent on car repairs in a given time? Can you remember?

$695 to replace a bumper and paint it...
I would have had to pay $2200 for a new Transmission but thank god my car was still under warranty

$4000 between two repairs for a blown head gasket on a 1995 Ford Windstar.
Ford originally told us to have inappropriate relations with ourselves when we asked for compensation.
About a year later, they admitted fault and cut us a check for the total amount.

(needless to say we don't have that one anymore, and I've sworn off Ford since then)

$275 to have a transmission rebuilt. I pulled the transmission and re-installed it myself.
$400 to have ball joints and tie rod ends replaced and then a re-alignment of the front end.

My old corolla had 122k on it when the trannie was going. So I just got a new car instead.

Yeah...but think of the inconvenience of trying to haul groceries home on a bike...in the rain.

Rain...rain? Take the rain out of this equation!!! And my backpack would suit me just fine hauling groceries.
