As you all klnow, for a brief moment in time last year, it looked like the impossible would happen. Red Sox and Cubs in the series. Unfortunately, It did not happen.

Just for a lark what do you think would happen if the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox did get to the World Series ?

Why is this unfortunate? At least from Boston's POV, yes.

The National League team from Chicago is honing in on a century without a World Series title. That dubious distinction is deserved and earned. It's like a Congressional committee on intelligence - It. Just. Can't. Happen.

It is unfortunate that it didn't happen because somebody would have to win. One of the curses would have to be broken.

And Boston would still be without a pennant.

Of course, i am firmly in the camp of something tragic happening and the WS not being finished (tied at two games a piece, probably).

Because it probably would have been the most watched series in history.

I would most likely yawn, check the papers and try to catch the last three innings of the last game.

i subscribe to the russian revolution theory for the red sox.

the red sox last won the world series in 1918 which was also the year of the Russian Revolution. so the red sox are 1 for 1 in winning the world series when the russians' revolt. therefore i predict that when the russians have another revolution that the red sox will once again win the world series...

the cubs on the other hand...well, lets just say 'damm that billy goat'...

The moons were aligned for a Sox/Cubs series last year. And both teams choked. It will take another 100 years for them to have a chance to meet in the World Series. Mr. Green
