6 miles was on the schedule for today but a little storm named Frances has caused me to cancel that!

Wuss.
I stayed up late last night and paid the price with a noon-time run today. 89 degrees, sun blazing, and humid.

Two miles on my home road, which meant hills. Powered right up the hills, which surprised me, but I guess I haven't lost that much with a week off.

First day of program -- supposed to be 20-25 mins of easy running. Did 26 mins 8 sec - 3.1 miles, rolling massachusetts terrain. Works out to 8min 20sec/mile.
I have to cut down to 6.5 - 7 min miles on race day if I am ever going to qualify to the front 2-3 waves of the Bolder Boulder Citizens race!!!
And Miles to go before I sleep, Miles to go before I sleep

Sorry for the language, but today was an f-ing disaster.
Once again, heat and humidity destroyed my long run. 86*, 74% rh combined for a run of 13.261 miles in 2:12:09.07. This is not like training in the storms for Mad City - storms and wind do not drain you physically like this does. I have yet to get a respectable long run in. There will be a roll of the dice a week from next Saturday. 20 miles, LC on bike providing liquids (she wasn't able to accompany me today), and in the morning. This will be the clincher to convince me that it isn't the heat, it's the humidity.
And yes, I am going to run Chicago. That has never changed. Not for one second.
