Posted: 04/27/03 - 12:56 Post subject: Moe's Better Half Marathon
I haven't been doing much distance work since early February. Actually, because of work I haven't been able to run much at all.
So, I just up and entered a half marathon. My time sucked so bad I am embarrased to post it, but I felt pretty good up to 9 miles. The course is considered very tough around here--and the guys on the bikes took a wrong turn and we ran the course backwards--so all the tough hills that were supposed to be between miles 3 and 7 were actually between miles 9 and 13...and I like to attritibute part of that to my sucky 2:39 time.
But it is nice to be back putting in some longer milege.

Sounds like a fun race, especially if you take out those hills! I think your time is quite respectable, especially if you haven't been doing too many long runs. Great job!

took some real "ca-hoonies" to get out there for a long race if you haven't been training.........i'm impressed and would love to have run it with you (er, maybe not considering those hills).
