Miss Steph has been having "bad neighbor" problems with the neighbor to the rear of her house since before she and i started dating.
The guy asked for a variance to the 15 foot structure build ordinance with plans for a fence and a 1 story workshop/garage with an awning. the variance also had stated that there would be no trees affected by this structure. with the plans he submitted he got her signature and approval from city/local officials.
what he built was 2 story block. it is huge and blocking the view. plus to accomadate the new highth he had a tree service go onto her property and climb the tree with spikies, which are illigal in Atalnta, to trim back branches. He has been fined from the tree commision for $4000.00+ for
tree damage. he essentially killed two good trees as well as damaged two others. if the damaged trees die or get diseased he gets more fines.
so Steph stopped all his work on the new structure took him to the city boards, which ruled against the bad neighbor, he's appealed, submitted new variances, still missing the impacted trees mind you.
NOW the new fun. apparently this guys attorney has intructed him not too disclose the tree service he used for the tree services. Steph and i have found out that this guy is the president of a tree service. The tree commision is ready to take this guy to court and have all this put out into the open.
apparently he has been very sneaky in how he does these things, what check is used to pay for variances, submissions, and liscenseing. he also has another buisness listed out of the house but does not seem to do anything according to the records. seems more like a way to write off some household expenses.
My question is do you think that the better buisness bureau could also be called into this. Between the knowingly knowingly killing off trees, which he said the company that provided the service did not kill it off but the city arborist has no doubt he killed it with all the pruning he did. The spiking of the trees, something that a professional service should know, it seems like a malicious act to me and the non-working buisness.
looking for advice, reccomendations, experiences. Miss Steph has already forbade me from having a "B-B-Q"  or planting kudzu at the base of the structure.

Wow. I don't know. Neighbor fights can get really ugly, but don't let this guy get his way. He's just trying to wear you down until you give up.

How far do you live from me?
I would go to the media with the whole story. Paper, TV, etc...
Once the story hits, he will not be able to pay anyone off, or bury the facts. It would be a "hot potato".
Of course you and I could go over and have a little chat with him...

i was thinking if the better buisness beureau didn't get anyhting done, to take it to the media as well. Steph seems to be a little shy on it though. a shame to considering her staus in the Atlantan community. Turns out her father help start and was first chairman of the High Museum. so her name is worth something too.
