We heard "Cold Hearted Snake" by Paula Abdul on the radio and the girlie was singing "He's a Girl Life Saver!"

A woman the DH used to work with used to sing "Police La di da" to "Feliz Navidad"

YEARS AGO, I heard the song "Love is a Rose"

But I misheard it as... "Love is a nose but you better not pick it...."

The Rascals' song "Groovin'"

Groovin' on a Sunday afternoon.

One line says:

you and me end-less-ly Grooovin'

For years I thought it said:

You and me and Leslie.

PS So did my daughter...

One of my college roommates was classic for these. I've said all of these before I'm sure, but they are worth repeating

Boyz II Men's "Water runs dry" she thought "Let's don't wait till the water runs dry" was "Lets go into the water and drown..." how romantic

And Bone Thugs chart topper I have no clue why we listened to this crap in college she though "It's the Thuggish Ruggish Bone" was "Its the mother f'in bomb..." teehee

One of my favorites was "I'm leaving on a jet train..." Christy, whats a jet train? teehee

Eddie Money's "Take me home tonight" came out at the same time Crispix breakfast cereal came out with the corn side v. rice side commercials? Perhaps too I should add that I was also in elementary school at this point in my life. Anyway, I thought Eddie Money was saying "Crunch like rice side, be my little baby". Mr. Green Some lyrics website just told me he says "just like Ronnie sang, be my little baby" which makes so much more sense

You can get some good background on misread lyrics by going to:

Apparently "you and me and Leslie" was not an isolated occurrence...

i'll take this one instead HYPER JU

but it wasa nice ready made line when my 5 y/o son asked what they were saying when he heard it in the car CD player.

what was funny was when the next summer he was still singing that song and wanted me to play it for my Ex and her new DH. Mr. Green

REM - "Sidewinder Sleeps"

For years I just sang along "Tone-age-a-wigga-huh?".

Apparently the lyrics are "Don't even try wakin' her".

I still prefer my version.

LOL

I just spewed Dr. Pepper on my monitor.

I can't even begin to describe what Ang thinks some lyrics are. Let's just say it's become good entertainment.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the ever popular "Bingo Jed had a light on" by Steve Miller Band.

CCR's Bad Moon Rising...I knew a girl who wondered why John Fogerty kept singing "there's a bathroom on the right".
