Since we are officially half way through the year.

How is your year going so far?

Are you meeting your training goals?
How is your racing doing?

What are you goals for the rest of the year?

Running 152.01 miles 1:01:18:07 10:03
Bike 781.8 miles 3:20:11:08 7:08
Skate 1596.04 miles 6:06:39:46 5:41
Play Skate 38.76 miles 0:07:55:00 12:15
Weight Training 0 miles 0:07:05:00
Dryland 0 miles 0:07:30:00
Aerobic Machine 0 miles 0:00:15:00
Coyote Skate 10 miles 0:07:60:00 9:00

TOTAL MILES 2578.61 i little higher than expected. but not planning on backing down my goal of combined 4008 miles for the year was just a guess for a benchmark. Also BRAG put a lot of mileage on.

not getting the time on machines i planned on. but that's ok with me, more outside time.

well i see i should follow the format,
racing, going well. to include the running races. i think the HRM with GPS has been a terriffic combination.

training is going well too. been safe from major injuries and i have gotten smarter i think in training. a lot of the smarter is from here and a skater forum.

goals. i still want to increse the skating pace another 3 moh by October. so that means staying injury free and continue the smart training.

700.9 miles.

My elliptical work is added into this mix, but it's mainly been running miles. I don't log my walking miles like I should. I have days where I'll cool down with walking.

How is your year going so far? - Fair - had a sucky first duathlon, but the other two were pretty good. Only run 1 5K so far.

Are you meeting your training goals? Yes for running, not so much for cycling

How is your racing doing? won't really get jiggy with racing until the 2nd half of the year. One of my goals was to get an AG award in a duathlon and I did manage to do that.

What are you goals for the rest of the year? Even though I have yet to go sub 19 for a 5K, I'm going to go on record and say that I think I can go sub 18 before the year is out. I also want to go sub-20 for the 5K portion of a duathlon.

How is your year going so far?
Mixed feelings. Stupid fall in hole cost me 3 weeks of training. Two horrible races, a sucky intro to tris. Focused too much (in retrospect) on bike, not enough on swimming. This month, though, reaching notches unknown! I'm getting much better at the 5K, 4M, 5M, and 10K (PRs aplenty) but I need to work on my half times.

Are you meeting your training goals?
I had one goal: to do the tri. I did that. I somewhat regret, however, that running - my first love - was put on the back burner and that I sacrificed Broad Street and the Queens half.

How is your racing doing?
Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. So far 19 total races including 2 5Ks (1 AG award), 2 4Ms (PR), 5 5Ms (2 PRs), 2 10K (PR), 1 10M, 3 halfs, 1 15K, 1 kick ass sprint tri, 1 lackluster monster tri, 1 charity 3.5M walk. Course PRs on all repeats save two. I'm on fire lately, and have just a few more in summer racing season. Then comes fall. Races galore.

What are you goals for the rest of the year?
Race my little heart out. Have fun at NYCM, PR at Philly. Survive my first half ironman, preferably in style with a smile. Most important goal: to work my butt off with running to finally see what I'm truly capable of. I think there are big surprises in store for me in the fall. Score my second NYRRC Grand Prix patch.

How is your year going so far? Good, not great. I have made some strides in my biking speed. My run is suffering. My swim has yet to come along.

Are you meeting your training goals? No. Without a log I don't know where my miles are, but they aren't where I want them. I'm under 3k biking for the mid season and I should be around 1k running and I think I'm just under that too. Swimming, don't make me laugh.

How is your racing doing? Very Happy, I would have liked to have done a little better at Gulf Coast and at the Escape from Florida, but it didn't happen. I hope to see some more hardware in the next few races.

What are your goals for the rest of the year? A sub 5 half IM would be nice. I keep missing it by so little. I may have to give up the half and concentrate soley on my end of year IM. I'm in a slow base\build for it now and I can tell you if it were this month or next I would do really bad.

How is your year going so far?
Good. I've really made tons of improvement in my overall fitness.

Are you meeting your training goals?
Yup. I picked up cycling and swimming and I'm pretty much where I had hoped to be.

How is your racing doing?
Only 1 race so far, a 10k back in January. I have my first tri next week.

What are you goals for the rest of the year?
Do at least 2 more tris. I do want to do either a 10k or half-marathon in fall or early winter.

How is your year going so far? Until this month, the year has been going great.

Are you meeting your training goals? Same as above.

How is your racing doing? Better than I expected. I did get that first marathon in; more of a satisfaction was the unexpected of two AG awards.

What are you goals for the rest of the year? First, to deal with this injury. The only race I am definite for is the LaSalle Bank (Chicago) Marathon. There are others I'm looking at, but the calendar is basically wide open with dates. Or opportunities, if you prefer.

1170 miles for the year, so on pace to beat the goal.

How is your year going so far?

Going well so far. I am upping the miles in an effort to have the endurence to hold pace for the last 6.2 miles.

Are you meeting your training goals?

No real goals other than to keep running and get ready for the long runs.

How is your racing doing?

My April 10k was a great time for me, but no more races until September.

What are you goals for the rest of the year?

I have a couple of races in September and October to see about my fitness and then it is time for the fall marathon.

How is your year going so far?
Very well so far...Ran my first half (1:37) back in February..was happy with my time..also had a great spring race season with prs in all races ran (5k- 20:03, 8k- 33:08, 10k- 41:41)
Are you meeting your training goals?
For running, yes. Met my mileage goal of 60 mpw for summer base. (in training for the fall) I hope to maintain 55-65 mpw for another month or so. I have also started to add back a bit of speedwork this week and so far everything's going ok. I have also beginning to see some good results in my strength/weight training program (which is largely for my running and set up with the help of a personal trainer) in terms of strength conditioning, core stability, and flexibility. As for swimming..I started training regularly in January, noticed big improvements but I stopped for a month or so during the spring, deproved abit and now getting better again as I am now swimming regularly.
How is your racing doing?
So far the 4 races I ran earlier this year were all prs- a big improvement on last year's performances (plus my first half). I have a 10k in sight on July 24th- running it as a benchmark to check on my progress. Perhaps, if everything goes well, a sub 40 may be possible. Most of my planned races, however are in the fall.

What are you goals for the rest of the year?
For the fall I'm planning to schedule probably 2 halfs plus a number of shorter distance races. I'll like to try a few X-country races (haven't done these since HS 3-4 years ago) as well as the regular road races. Also I just found out there is an aquathon (swim/run race) sometime in October just 5-10 mins from home. I think it will be a neat to try this just to test my swimming skills plus to get the opportunity to do my first multisport event. As for performance goals this fall, an 18:30 5k, sub 31 min 8k, 38 min 10k and a sub 1:30 half would be nice

How is your year going so far?
My year is going great so far. I had a few setbacks with shin splints, but I've been lucky. I set out to do the AZ RnR Half and was happy to complete my first race in years. I did drop my dreams of doing a triathlon for this summer though. I had built up great base with my swimming and it is disappointing to me that I stopped. Oh well, there's time to reach that goal one day.

Are you meeting your training goals? Yes, I feel that I am. After my HalfM's in January, I wanted to maintain what I had been doing and keep that milege base up. So, I average anywhere between 27 and 32mpw to keep this base up. I've also started working with my speed and picking up the pace some. That's been a challenge that isn't as hard as I was making it out to be in my head. I know there's more work that goes into speed work, but I'm doing what I can on the treadmill. So, I'm happy with what I'm doing at this current time. The next goal I have is to set out a good marathon training schedule that I can stick to and follow. That's coming up in the near future, as well as more outdoor training.

How is your racing doing? I've been satisfied with the three races I have done. I know that I should do more and it's something I'll overcome one day. I really get anxious about racing and put great thought into it. While I don't race much, I want to do well when I do.

What are you goals for the rest of the year? My main goal is to get a good marathon plan put together to train and then stick to that plan. I hope to build up my Long Distance running to 22 miles in order to complete a marathon. I hope to continue this with as little or few injuries possible. I hope to gain a better knowledge of what my body can and cannot do with running. I'm sure I'll get a good lesson in what kinds of "fuel" I'll need to nourish my body right to run longer than I have. In a few weeks I'll be bumping things up a bit. Let's hope so anyway.

I'm a little apprehensive to publically say anything about marathon training or that I'll be doing one. It's something that I don't want to say and then not do. I hope and pray that I will do this. It's all in my head and something I think about a lot. We'll see.
