Posted: 09/08/05 - 18:37 Post subject: Mexican Hurricane relieve
So today I went for a soda in the afternoon and while in the cafeteria I noticed a bunch of Federailies out side with a bunch of semi's all pulled over on the side of the road. Normally this isn't that strange but I took a closer look and all these trucks from the LALA company had English on them. They had about 10 trucks all lined up and where adding some banners. These trucks are all headed for the US to help provide food to the displaced people. They started out in Torreon, Mexico and were destined for San Antonio. The police are provided an escort. I talked to a few of them for a while and they were very nice and really want to help the victims of the hurricanes. This really moved me to see Mexico helping us out.
I didn't have my camera with me but once of the employees at the plant is suppose to be sending me some pictures soon. I will post them when I receive them.

The Austin paper wrote a story about this convoy. Very cool.

Heard on NPR this outfit is equipped to serve something like 21 thousand meals per day.
Its part of the Supply and Services Command of the Mexican Army.
Our thanks to our southern neighbor.

I dare you to ask them, "Where are your badges?"
See if they say, "Badges! ... We don't need no badges! I don't have to show you any stinking badges!!"

I heard they are sending the convoy with about 1,000 personnel.
They are only expected about 75 people to come back though.

We were making the same joke. Mexico probably just lost a regiment do to this.
