Is anyone's gym offerring this, too? It's where they test your metabalism then tell you what you need to do to gain/lose/maintain. Just curious if anyone has done it and what they thought of the test and the results.

I have a friend who is a dietician at a local hospital. She got access to something you breath into as a sample from some rep....anyway, from breathing into this machine you could determine your basal metabolic rate. I figure, if that is accurate (which, who knows) and you know your BMR (which is really the X factor for all of us with varying metabolism and hormonal rates and muscle or fat mass, etc), you could pretty easily guesstimate additional calories burned and thus know what you would need to intake to gain, maintain or lose.

Its been a while since she mentioned it and I don't think they use it at her hospital, but I seem to remember her thinking it was fairly accurate, or more accurate than any other measure they had.

yeah, that didn't help anything, did it? Wink I'll see if I can find out more from her, figure out the name, how it worked, etc.

I think that's what it is....I was just kindov curious about it and it's usefulness. It's $40 and I doubt I'd do it, just was curious.
