Jim is three times as old as Jane was two years ago. In 10 years, Jane will be as old as Jim is now. How old are they now? (Hint: Jane is not yet a teenager.)

it's 18 and 8... but i'm struggling to figure out how that was figured out.

3(x-2) is Jim

y+10=x

3[(y+10)-2]=

3(y+Cool =

3y + 24 =

y = 24/3

y = 8

x = y+ 10

x = 18

18, 8... nevermind i did get it.

The only reason this would even remotely matter is if I gave a darn who Jane and Jim are to buy them presents.

And wouldn't it just be easier to phone Jim up and say, "Dude, how old are you?"

but what fun would that be??? Besides, that would mean talking on the phone...
