I'm making my favorite pulled pork recipe.
Equal parts of vinegar and Texas Pete hot sauce
Bring to a slow boil with a Boston Butt for hours...until it falls off the bone.
Then put in a crock pot with some BBQ sauce...shredding the pork.
(This is also good if you cut the pork and BBQ the pork in slices)
*baked beans
*corn on the cob
*pasta salad
*fresh strawberries
I love Memorial Day! If I had a grill, I would have made a few burgers as well. This will do. The kids love it.

We'll be cooking up a steak. We will also have some of Emeril's famous Manly Man cornbread with cheese and bacon and some cole slaw.
I already made some corn bread for the Strawberry shortcake.
Life is good - work at 2230.

That sounds similar to my husband's BBQ! He smokes it all night instead of boiling, and mixes up a bunch of spices like a deranged chemist waiting for vinegar slaw and a toasted hot bun.

Yum! This sounds great smoked. I don't have a smoker to do that. I miss SC so much and their wonderful southern BBQ places.

It's one of my favorite meals ever! My uncle is from NC and gave it to me. He's the one who got me hooked.
The Texas Pete gives the meat the right kind of "bite" it needs and the BBQ sauce lessons the "heat". If you get that?

I so wish I lived near Noley or Kristin! ITA with Mech -- deliciousness!
As it is, it's so freakin' hot here -- I just cannot fathom really cooking. So we're doing hot dogs and chips.
Then we're gonna pop some popcorn and watch Shrek 2.

hmmm......thanks for the idea.....I had a pork tenderloin roast in the freezer that I pulled out and will cook slowly in the oven with some BBQ sauce.........while it's cooking, I could go to the store and get some things to go with it.......what should I make?.....maybe some cole slaw?......I have some beans already........I'll need some dessert too........
maybe I should also go for a bike ride to burn off some calories ahead of time......

DH is grilling a steak, frying up some mushrooms. Boiled potatoes and steamed broccoli with homemade coconut cream pie for dessert.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
and bestest of all is that I didn't have to do a thing.
