Everyone has said "watch out when you stop those meds suddenly" but they didn't say for what.

Benzedrine is something I have taken during race walking, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!! Unless you want to stain your pelvis. I was flying out there!

I'll answer this more fully when I get home, but basically there can be a range of effects from sudden stoppage of antidepressants, from seizures to cardiac problems. Some, like Paxil, you actually go through withdrawal similiar to what you'd go through coming off street drugs, because of the mechanisms they work on. That's the short of it, they are nothing to f-ck with. People have actually died from doing that. SO DON'T DO IT.

Some meds lead to dangerous depression is not tapered off of correctly. My wife had a frind who seriously hurt himself when he stopped taking his meds suddenly.

Sometimes Docs don't give a good enough answer because they're too busy. It's sometimes easier to ask others who may have gone through it than to beg a condescending doc for info.
I have a doc that just doesn't have the time of day for me. In fact, the clinic keeps calling to schedule me for a "new patient" referral. They don't realize I'm already his patient.

Every time I go there I think that to myself. He's Garrett's doc, but I'm quickly thinking he's not going to be mine for much longer.
He's very easy with the scripts and was practically PUSHING yet another anti-D drug when I said the Strattera was not working and basically buried any creative verve I had.
I said, no mas. I'd rather be a flake. So I did ask him about quitting the strattera and he said it would be okay since the dose was low and I hadn't been using it that long.
