I just saw a commercial advertising a free pedometer when you buy a salad and water.
I think they're just trying to stop the bleeding from the just-released doctumentary "Super-size Me."
I personally can't wait to see it.

The Go-Active Happy Meals are not that bad. I had one when they were testing them here in Indiana back in the fall. You get a salad, a pedometer, and a book on walking. I've use the pedometer a few times to just see how many steps things are. I think I even wore it once on a 5-mile run. Besides those few times, I have not worn the pedometer that much since I'm already active.
Unfortunatly, in the news release, they say that the meals will only be around until June.

I don't know about two guys, but it is the documentary of a guy who ate every single meal at McDonald's for 30 days. Every time they asked if he wanted to Super Size his meal, he said yes. It tracks his health and weight, and is supposed to be very interesting (and oddly enough, not so much an indictment of McDonald's, but rather of part of American culture).

ok, I must have heard something about this on Public Radio. My vague memory of it has the one guy eating every meal there for 30 days. But I know i heard something else about a similar experiment, and the guy who exercised actually lost weight, eventhough he ate every meal there.

I still want to know why the drive-through menus have orders that also appear in Braille. (calling out ATM operators on this one, too.)

Super Size Me just came out in wide release last Friday and I went that very night to see it. For some reason I couldn't find it in any theaters here before that.
It's a FANTASTIC movie. Funny, lighthearted, entertaining, and interesting. I have some questions about the scientific design of the experiment but for the most part he normalized his data as well as he could.
The best thing about it is that it doesn't delve into Michael Moore-ish melodrama and over the top histrionics to prove its point. Certainly it has an agenda, but this film delivers numbers and statements (without vilifying McDonald's) and lets them stand on their own; the viewer can draw their own conclusion. I like films that make people think.
You should see it if you like documentaries, are interested in the hype, or want incentive to stay away from fast food.

If this one gets to my theatre, i'm there. If not: Netflix the day it releases.
