Sorry but I did not participate in the masochism lesson today. Because I have a broken pinky toe I rode my bike. The others did this:
Everyone started together, and ran a set 5K XC course. At the 15 minute mark, everyone turned around and ran back. In theory, they were all supposed to finish at the same time.
I didn't stick around for the denoument. I rode my bike for about an hour through the park. Very pleasant.
Next week it will be track training.
