Well it has been 2 years since I last ran this race. (http://runningforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23629&highlight=marine+corps) When I last ran this race I crashed and burned around mile 8 or 9. Well This year I stayed pretty solid. The weather cooperated and stayed in the low 70's and it was cloudy with a little breeze. My whole goal was to break 2 hours and run a solid paced race. I took full advantage of my garmin 201 and programmed the training partner for that pace.
I started off in the middle of the pack looking for a nice solid pace that felt comfortable. I ended up running with a friend from work through the first 6 miles and we were just clipping off the miles nice and solid. I then saw an open port o potty and I had to stop to use it. I got out and saw my friend ahead and I thought I could real him in but I never caught him. He was just running to strong. The support was pretty good and PLENTY of water this time. I did start to struggle at around mile 10 and I thought that would happen since I hadn't gotten a chance to run any double digit runs. Work and coaching soccer has just gotten in the way of any good morning runs. Overall I am really pleased with the results.

Wow great job, nice time. Why don't you have your garmin set up to automatically record your 1 mile splits without hitting your lap button? Just wondering.

Way to go!
My sister ran that race too. Called me on her way home. She said she was very pleased with her time and effort. She was behind you--a 10 minute miler!
