Oh what a terrible day it was. My champion (Stanford) lost, as did Maryland. If Syracuse wins again, I'm gonna be ticked. They ruined my brackets last year. Nevada... man I never saw that coming. That's so cool, great team for a Cinderella. UNC bowed out against Texas, I think I should learn to give up on UNC and Florida... they never do what they're supposed to. Argh... looks like I'm out of the running. Unless we have like a Nevada winner... I don't think anyone has that... or am I wrong?

I am still hanging around in 10th place. Not sure if I can make a run at the championship though. I guess I should take a look at my bracket and see how I am doing.

Texas game was a good one! I was at the Longhorn Fan Club central headquarters (aka, my parents' house) watching the game with the fam. Needless to say there was much stress but much jubilation and UT fight songs after...
what dorks, so fanatical about a basketball team...who would do that
As for my bracket, I'm alive as long as UK is...

I'm currently watching UK battle for their lives against that national powerhouse of a program known as "UAB".

UAB is the University of Alabama-Birmingham. If you run the Mercedes Marathon, part of the course goes through their campus. It looks like a pretty nice school. For that matter, I find Birmingham is a nice medium city. I wouldn't mind living there. It reminds me a lot of Atlanta in the 70s before we expanded to such a large city.
In 1981 on this exact same date, UAB upset KY in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Sometimes history repeats itself.

Alas, yes it does.
If anyone needs any scratch paper, I have a worthless bracket you can write on...

Dude, I'm down with C-USA! The football team got a huge upset over LSU a few seasons back when it went to legit D-1 status.
As for the Blazers hoops program... paging Coach Bartow, witness?

I LOVE UAB! I watched this game at work and it was nothing short of amazing. I really needed something like that to revitalize my chances after losing Stanford and State. I lost out on the Cinci game also, but that doesn't hurt too badly. I just hope Illinois knocks off Duke.

Well, I made 2 great picks:
1. Alabama over Stanford
2. Gonzaga losing in the 2nd round (although I had them lose to MSU)
and one BIG boo-boo,
1. I had Kentucky winning the whole thing.
