I checked out the Ilsnad one on their website. That looks really cool. Guess it would depend on the average weather. Otherwise, Tuscon.

I voted for the Island. I'm green with jealousy. I'll never do one... I'm too frigging slow.

I know people who have done Kiawah and loved it. Keep in mind it's a resort so staying there is pricey but supposedly worth it. Maybe email xtremrun or Michael the Roads Scholar to ask for their opinions. Both have done that race in the past.
Tuscon might be more convenient for you though.

I didn't vote because I don't have an opinion really, except to nominate Dallas, as I think I'll be there as part of a relay team. I think its 12/14 (if thats a Sunday...)

I actually considered this one, but I've got 3 Texas marathons under my belt already and actually am thinking of doing Motorola as my first repeat. Plus, I'm looking for a fast course. I know Tucson is suppose to fast, but it is also point to point. My biggest problem at Grandma's (another point' to point) is the bus trip. 26 miles is a long way to travel with a full bladder. Hubby says fam will go with and Kiawah sounds more exciting for spectators. Next year, I got to get my head on straight there's only about 6-7 marathons within 4 hours of me in Oct!!

A second suggestion then...Houston! Its January 19, after when you are looking, but its a fast course thats not point to point, mild temps and a darn good vacation spot, if I do say so!! (not that I'm biased...)
Of course I'm guessing thats one of the 3 Texas marathons you've done already...but just throwing it out there....my little newly formed relay team may actually be in Austin too.

I've done Huntsville. Not much to write home about. Course is fairly flat, but scenery and specatators were lacking. Don't know about Tuscon, will have to look into it. As soon as it fits into my budget, I'm doing Kiawah Island. But as Genie said, it's a resort area so the prices will be high.
