I need arch support. Cheapo insoles from wal-mart have helped some but I'm needing something better. I was just about to order a $35 pair from the place Keltic recommended but are they any better than the cheap ones? Will they fit in any pair of running shoes?

I'd like to get custom made ones but can you interchange shoes with them? Someone told me what he had would only fit 1 shoe. ever.

I'm confused. Confused

ok, i have custom orthotics that a chiropractor ordered for me thru foot levelers. i have really gotten to where i can not run withouth them cuz they balance your weight, support your arch, and actually help with the "push off" phase of your stride. i can take them out and put them in any pair of running shoes i want; i'm sure they wouldn't fit into any other kind of shoe. i'm on my second pair now; they're good for about 1500 miles, i kept the old ones and even they are alot better than nothing.

they were expensive but my insurance paid a portion. i think they cost $200(after insurance) but seeing as i wear them for almost 18 months, it is worth it. they are full length semi rigid; i tried half length and didn't like them at all.

i'd google running orthotics if i were you...like here:

the other thing you should do is ask the dang foot doctor to prescribe some; i'm sure he works thru a supplier as my chiropractor does.

today, i was in a hurry and grabbed my running shoes only i grabbed two different pairs; a left with the orthotic and the right had nothing in it...i ran 3.5 miles like that and wondered why things felt weird. i love being an ass

ask a doctor first before going online for them...that's what i'd want to do. if you go online, make sure they have a 100% money back guarantee if they don't work out for you.
