Any pros or cons for these? Are fluid trainers worth the extra money?

I really like my Cycle-Ops Fuild2. The ride is smooth and it feels a lot like road riding except there are never any downhills.

I can't recommend any mag trainers. I had a iMagic trainer for a while, but the magnetic resistance is controlled via a computer. It worked well too, but I never had the patience to work with the iMagic software.

I used a Performance Mag trainer for 5 years. Still have it. It worked great.

Last year I got a Fluid2 and that is great as well. Much more resistance. Also the power curve goes up as you ride faster so it is much like the road in that respect. The mag trainer you have the potential to run out of gears on interval sets.

I haven't tried any of the new mag trainers with variable resistance.

That's what I have and love it. But it's also all I've had, I'm a newbie with the trainer thing so I don't know any better. Mine is a Giant and I paid about 169.00.

I have this one:

What I wanted was something is really quiet. I had two other less expensive trainer, that were very noisy.

The Mag trainer is quiet and reasoably priced.
