i was going with inches in a mile... but didn't have exact measurements.
1600m in a mile...3.2ish feet in a meter... times 12 inches... and i figured the loose change would've added up.

Charlie went out to buy some tools. He spent half of the original amount plus $10 for a drill, half of what was left plus $4 for a sander, then half of what was left plus $2, leaving him with $6.
How much did he start with?

ANSWER: $100 ($50 + $10 = $60, leaving $40; $20 + $4 = $24, leaving $16; $8 + $2 = $10, leaving $6)

T-D-S-X=6
D = T/2 + 10
S = T/4 - 1
X = T/8 - 2.5
T - T/2 - 10 - T/4 + 1 - T/8 +2.5 = 6
8T/8 - 4T/8 - 2T/8 - T/8 - 6.5 = 6
T/8 = 12.5
T=100
