I just tried on my Kick! singlet and it still fits. The moths haven't even eaten it away, Y'all know what I'm wearing in madison now.

Geez! Just when I think I got a plan in place something else pops-up and ya have to take care of that. kinda like a "whack-a-mole" of race events. I'll still be making my trip to madison, but the distance has been shortened to half-marathon. Some triathlon buddies have pointed out a 1/2 IM tri in the appleton area (june 20) and a marathon jsut a few weeks prior to that would leave me too depleted. WOW! I'm starting to sound old, a few years ago I thought nothing of running 3 marathons on consecutive weekends, but now I am realizing that the body needs time to recover. Maybe that jsut happens when you hit 40.
So to sum it all up, I will be running the half marathon in Madison, I think thats easier to train for too.

I'm seriously considering the marathon, assuming of course that I survive Cowtown

yep.....it's going to become a big event.....it's at high cliff state park which is maybe 15 minutes from me. Heather Gollnick and Dave Scott are the big headliners. Gloria West is heading it up...you probably know that she is the person that started the Fox Cities marathon, Green Bay Marathon and Waupaca Triathlon. My husband is going to help out and he kind of volunteered me.

STEVE!!! Wow, great to see your old friendly face again...not that your old, but you know what I mean! Well, I think Steve has solidified my plan to be in Madison - not that I wasn't coming anyway, but it's great to see you in the mix again, pal!
Gino's did work out quite nice. I'm up for that again as well.

1) I talked to him two weeks ago right after the last Packers game we won...he's been working a lot of night hours and I think he starts school soon. I'm still arm twisting to get him to come to Madison.
2) Not til next year, so I'll be making the big haul again, but I'm stopping along the way to see some friends and break up the drive, and I am staying a little longer out there so I can scope out the area, go see the college, etc.....and this year I am bringing home a trunkful of Wisconsin beer, brats, cheese, etc....to tide me over! Last year I didn't have time to shop.
Sue, are you and hubby definitely coming?
Rando, is Ben coming again?

I'm sure he'll join us. He'll probably run whatever I do as well.

Being new to the sport of triathlons, I know Dave scott is the legend, the man and the backbone of the sport. It will be an honor to get to see him and maybe share a few words. Heather? She's local to us and we see her alot all over. I think her sucess is so great and inspiring.
Now Sue, you have an idea of the area/region around the park. What should I expect from the bike course? They don't have a map yet on the website, but hilly, flat, rolling, severe steep hills, treelined roads, wide open sunny roads?
I know gloria has had many great events in the past, so I don't expect anything less for this one either.

Haven't heard the route yet....but knowing that it's at Highcliff State Park....I do know that is where locals go to do "hillwork". The surrounding area however is very flat....so my guess would be generally flat with hills by the exchanges....but I have to get back to you to confirm this
