I am only calling you on your argument.

First of all, how dare you decide how I feel or what I've been doing the last 10 years? Let me just remind you that we've never met. You know next to nothing about me. Rather than find out, however, you've made some pretty big assumptions. Nice. Are you that sloppy in your day job, too?

YOU have made this personal. I was questioning your stance and you attack my character.

If I thought babies were being killed (other than those our country killed in Iraq while dropping depleted uranium since 1990), I'd be acting on it. But I don't. That isn't the cause that resonates with me but there are several others that I work hard on.

Meanwhile it apparently does resonate with you. So what precisely are you doing about it? If you value life so much, why do you seek to take it away from others, via war in which death is inevitable and via your stance as pro-death penalty and by carrying a gun with you every day that you may have to use?

I guess those fetuses don't count.

If I have to take a guy out who is about to take my, an innocent person's life or another person's life, so be it. Do you think any PO wants to kill. No. It is only a shame that we have to resort to that to protect our life.

As far as the death pentalty. That is a justice issue that we will always disagree on.

Some people cannot be bargined with. I believe especially as someone of the Jewish Faith you believe you can negotiate with terrorists. Once you give a little on something they will harp on something else.

These people only know brute force. It is not a bunch of people sitting around a table negotiating a contract. Those people slaughter innocent people (i.e. Nick Berg) without discretion.

I can't hand them a flower and sing kumbaha with them.
Hitler was not conquered that way either.

Dang--when will you get it? You're not questioning my stance, you have yet to question anything. I would like you to explain further why you think that people who are Jews would as a result of their faith be more likely to believe they can "negotiate with terrorists" whatever you think that means. It makes no sense to me whatsoever and is another indication of your making assumptions.

I thought (wrongly I see) that you would be more sensitive being Jewish with the way the militant Muslims are handled. Israel has been trying for years to negotiate without much success. The only thing those cowards understand is brute force.

That was my only assumption. But I also know that not all Jewish people think that way either. Many think like you. I was just trying to make a point.

I got confused b/c Jewish faith has nothing whatsoever to do with Israeli politics. I quite agree that negotiating with terrorists doesn't work. I think we just differ on who the terrorists are.

Thanks for clearing it up.

I don't understand why you feel the need to add insults into your arguments. If you feel your opinion is valid and sound, then the strength of your argument should rest upon that. Adding insults is merely a bully tactic, and I don't think it ever won over converts.

Well, as far as that issue is concerned:

Because I think George Bush is one of the stupidest people there ever was, and certainly the dumbest one who was ever a world leader. He and his administration are a bunch of clueless jokers and yet they're in charge. It's not an insult so much as the truth the way I see it.

I'm not looking for converts, Angie. If I were, I wouldn't be on RR.

You're certainly not earning any respect. You want your views heard or you wouldn't be typing them out on a forum for public display. My only point is, your views would be more easily heard/accepted if you stuck to your facts and let those speak for themselves, rather than letting insults weaken your argument. And whether or not you see them as true or not, they are still insults and tactless. It is still a playground bully tactic and it does nothing for your credibility, which I know you have loads of.

And of course you are entitled to your opinion of our world leaders, but one day your tactlessness may harm your case more than help it.

Whatever. Clearly we see it differently. But I would much rather go out on a limb with a passionate voice than refuse to take a stand b/c it might 'harm my case' someday.

Edited to add: if you want to dis on me for using "insulting" words you find problematic then at least be consistent and bust on every right-winger here for the same issue. Your bias is showing.

Greg, I would rather not have lessons in being a litigator from you. In the first place, I don't plan to be a litigator. In the second place, you're not one either and therefore don't have relevant advice for me.

I would be interested, getting back to the issue of Halliburton, whether anyone knows the answer to this question. Of the $25B that Congress is allocating (that's in addition to the $80B that was previously authorized which was supposed to cover everything) for the continued war effort in Iraq, how much of it is actually going to take care of the troops and how much of it is going to pay private companies like Halliburton? If anyone knows, please share. Thanks.

All I did was ask you a rebuttal question to your comment. Nowhere in my response was I dispensing litigation advice or pretending to be a litigator.

That isn't true. You often tell me how something won't fly if I should try that in court and I'd like you to knock it off.

From all I've read, all of them were smarter than Bush. Craftier and more evil, too.
