I am a cross country runner turned track runner and still sticking to my distance roots (1600, 3200, and maybe some jumps to pass the time during the long meets =P). Anyways went to my first invitational this weekend and posted a 4:48 on the 1600 and want to know what type of workouts I should be doing. Up until now I've done some basic work at the gym and played a lot of tennis but nothing to cut my time at all. So my question is what type of workouts should I be focusing on in order to drop my times.
P.S. I'm willing to work hard for this. I want to compete with the top dogs of California =P
