Bellefonte Bear
This is where my brother lives. he told me that the bear took a walk through town, right through the saturday morning farmer's market before he visited this woman's pond.

From CDT staff reports
BELLEFONTE -- Penn Street resident Jean Barton woke up Saturday to find a birthday surprise in her front yard: A 300-pound bear had decided to cool off in her pond.
"You couldn't see the pond. He was reclining with his feet up," Barton said. "He was in there good, like he was in a health spa."
The bear rested for 20 minutes, Barton said, before Bellefonte police officers chased it away, through the Undine property into the neighboring woods, Bellefonte Police Chief Duane Dixon said.
He said the bear was one of the biggest he has seen wander into the borough.
The only casualties of the encounter, Barton said, were three of the six koi residing in the pond, which she suspects were the bear's lunch. And most of the pond water and some plumbing was displaced, she said.
"He wasn't out to hurt anyone. He was just hot," Barton said.
