2.5 hours during the winter months training for a marathon....a good cd or two in the walkman is so vital for this............here is hoping for a mild winter in 2003-04.

21.5.....
I actually think it's great training to do a long run on the treadmill now.....since I've done them....I think I have better patience during my marathons to hold back

7 miles. I was only going to go 6, but I fell asleep and ran an extra mile before I woke up.

9 miles last week. It wasn't too bad. Had the radio cranking. My problem is when I feel like doing my run, it's in the middle of the afternoon when It's hot. If I wait until evening I'll wimp out. I'm going 10 miles on it on Sunday.

I usually do my treadmill runs in 45 minute doses. that way I can finish up a movie in two runs.

To all those people who ran like 7 or more miles on the mill: How did you guys do it? Longest I ever did was about 4 or 5 miles. I just can't stand running on the tread mill. Gets me bored to death and for that reason I don't last long on it.

22 over the winter because it was too cold to run outside. Hope I never have to do that again.

Our Y has these little personal entertainment stations in front of each treadmill. It's got a TV and CD player (some have cassette players too) and you just plug in your headphones and go.
I like running on the treadmill if I've got a good CD with me. No traffic and a water bottle that's always handy.

Tim---it took me years to build up to 7 or 8.......but after I got to that point....its weird but 20 isn't any harder. It's almost like when you begin running......it takes months and months (at least for me) to get up to 6----but after I reached 6 and decided to try 16 one day....no problem.

It's 25 minutes if someone is waiting. I suppose if I went up there on a Saturday evening, I could probably run for 2 hrs.

We used to have the 20-min limit. The treadmill was actually programmed to turn off, right at 20. Talk about annoying. Finally a couple years back they got 3x as many and took off the limits. Now it's an "on your honor" 30-minute limit if someone is waiting...kinda rare. Sunday mornings are when I've done my real long ones. Esp in the winter I can catch the NFL pregame and much of the first games of the day.
