The senior prince sometimes has to take a few licks for the younger princes and princesess. I took my share of lumps to prevent a few of the youngins getting theirs

It taught me about leadership

Three of my older brothers terrorized us young girls. We cried when summer vacation came around because it meant they were home from college. One summer, one brother was not allowed to come home, as my younger sister had nightmares when school was nearing an end. He had to live with grandma that summer. My mother had no control. The most she'd do is "Jim please stop" as brother is hanging me upside down over the stairs railing. The fourth older brother which was the youngest of my four older brothers, lived in the attic (which wasn't really an attic, just a crawl space) to stay away from the other 3---- they were that mean.

Jim once put me in the dryer and left me there. At dinner my mom took a head count and said "who's missing". Bill once lock me in a travel trunk and then found out he didn't have the key, decided he would get dads drill and put some holes in the top so I could breathe.

My brother and I had a really hard time of it for years, it wasn't until I was about 14 or so that we really started being friends. He was a quiet kid who didn't get into trouble so there wasn't a lot of path-paving for me. And when he needed to be the man of the house, he could come down on me like a ton of bricks. But mostly that didn't happen.

Every time my sister and I fought i was the one that got caught since she would start it but my mom would walk in as I was retaliating.
