In an attempt to help Mrs. Hayes pass the time during her recovery, I've had the chance to watch more movies than I usually do. Some of the movies are really good (Bubble Boy) and some of them are really sucky.

We went to see Bulletproof Monk at the dollar theatre on Saturday and I thought it was a pretty sucky movie and would have just left the theatre if Mrs. Hayes wanted to but she didn't.

Yesterday, we rented Escanaba in da Moonlight (quite possibly the worst movie ever made). After about 15 minutes, I was ready to turn it off and find something else to do, but Mrs. Hayes wanted to keep watching so I watched an hr. of it and then left her to watch it alone. (no, really, worst movie EVAH!)

So, have you ever walked out of a movie? The only time I can recall leaving a theatre out of boredom was during Cocoon II. Embarassed

Brim (sp.?) Stoker's dracula with Tom Cruise. It was foul, vulgar and an awful movie. I actually left the theater on that one!

son watched Chevy Chase's Vacation on TV last week and thought it was fubby. soooo, i rented European Vacation for him last night and we all watched it Shocked PG13 rating --

not halfway thru -- i give the order "Turn this crap off, NOW"

F word, and of course frontal nudity is the least one would expect from a PG 13 rating.... the beginning of the end for Chevy Chase????

mr. rock and i walked out of Reds - (an old Warren Beatty movie) - after we woke each other up. doesn't it feel weird walking out of a movie???

Several years back there was a Woody Allen/Bette Middler movie that we left due to sheer boredom. I can't remember the name of it.

I had the biggest crush on Beverly DeAngelo when I was younger. I thought that movie was perfect. Wink

First, PH, you must consult people before picking these movies. Really.

Second, the only movie I ever thought about walking out of was "The Fifth Element" which was, hands down, the worst movie I've ever seen. And I've watched a LOT of crap. I figure you pay a lot of $$$ so you might as well stay. The only reason I didn't leave that abomination, btw, was The Paramedic had a nice nap during that, and I didn't want to disturb his deep sleep.

I think you mean Interview With The Vampire. Cruise wasn't in Bram's movie.

That would have been Keanu Reeves.. and that one, I kid you not, gave me nightmares. Hayes, I warn you now, don't rent it <shiver>.

I walked out of a movie called "Couch Trip." It was supposed to be a comedy, but it was just stupid. As I recall, it stared Robert DeNiro, who I usually like, but this time he bombed.

I don't think I've ever walked out on a movie. Bad movies are funny to me (and they give me an opportunity to vent).

but I did turn off My Best Friend's Wedding... Evil or Very Mad

The Val Kilmer version of Batman....blechhhh......and The Joy Luck Club. Not only was that movie the longest slice of hell I have ever experienced, but it was sooooooooooooooo depressing. If you're ever borderline suicidal and need a little boost over the edge, TJLC will do the trick.

Errrr....I liked the Anne Rice movie....Kirsten Dunst was great as the little girl....

You folks wouldn't have these types of issues if you were as hopelessly out of touch as I am.

I haven't seen a "grown up" movie in the theater in years. By the time they come out on DVD, they've been adequately crap filtered by enough people that even I can make a good decision.

Anything with Julia Roberts, BTW, doesn't make it through my own filter. Period.

You didn't like the Fifth Element?

Weird, it's a classic around these parts!

I don't recall ever walking out of a movie, although I've seen some really bad ones. I did however sleep all the way through Star Wars.
