I have a term policy through allstate, I get the premier preferred rate, for excellent health which cut like 100/year off the price.
paying 30.19 a month for 500k.
My greatest finanical need will be done in 20 years that is why I selected that term.
I am worth about 750k dead.
Shop around, look to the people who do your car and or home too, you generally get discounts on other policies too.

Put the extra money you'd spend on premiums in your 401(k) which will go to your widow when you die too. Aren't I a ray of sunshine?

IF you have had military service, most people qualify for USAA insurance and I highly recommend them. We have great rates on our home, car and life insurance premiums.

I spoke with my sister, the lawyer, and she said forget the life insurance, get disability insurance instead. She went on to say the chances of me being injured and not being able to work for a few months is much greater then me dying.
Now I'm really confused.

when we first got married I bought a 25K policy for myself whole life. Wife has about the same. We also bought a joint life on the both of us to pay off the mortgage.
We now have quite a bit of cash value in our policies. In fact, due to compounding and the like, I can realistically get my hands on about $20K without even taking out a loan.
Bottom line: Get a whole life or other cash accumulating policy. You can piggy back it to some term insurance so you get a large death benefit while at the same time getting accumulating some cash out of it.

Everybody should have disability insurance in addition to life insurance. ALWAYS! It even covers non-work related accidental injuries.

Is that just small air craft or does that include commercial flights?
