Posted: 11/13/04 - 09:52 Post subject: Library Report
I went yesterday afternoon for the first time in five years. I know this because I still had fines from my last foray into library-dom.
I got six books, which I will certainly never read in three weeks. Especially since I'm already midway through at least three books of my own.
Thanks for the inspiration to library, Riff-Raff!

Funny, cuz I went to in the last couple weeks for the first time in 5 years too. I checked out 1 book and had to renew it 2 weeks later as I was still on page 31. When I walked in the first time though I saw someone I know behind the desk and I said "Oh Kathy, I didn't know you worked here now." and she said "yeah, for 5 years now." I hope I get the damn book read this week. I love to read I just don't have time any more.

Ha! I was embarrassed by the person behind the desk too. When he told me about my fines, he read the names of the books I owed money for, and they were all ridiculous Bridget-Jonesy-type self-help titles. And I was with my best friend who constantly makes fun of me for reading books like that. He read the first title, and I turned beet red. And then he kept going, even though I'm blushing up a storm and my best friend is laughing outloud. That must be on the librarian list of fun ways to torment people who turn in books late.

I am lucky that I am able to read pretty regularly. I would love to read more, but I am happy with whatever reading time I get

and you hang around Krismas despite the fact that she's constantly making fun of you.
Stacey8870 and I are tentatively coming to Austin in February, I think the four of us would be T-R-O-U-B-L-E.
I love my library even with the late fees. The fines are cheaper than the book.
If I can't get through a book, I'm really not that interested in it and turn it in. Books I'm interested in, I find the time to get through them, even if it's the 10 minutes I'm waiting in line for the shuttle.

Well, it's definitely a make-funnable characteristic of mine. I can admit that and be willing to laugh at myself.
Let me know if the plans firm up. I'd love to meet the two of you!
