As EL brought up in the post your race pic post, my attempt at having COACH on my shirt at the TCM was a small disaster.
However, I really enjoyed having it on there. It was cool hearing all the people yelling "Go Coach!" and stuff like that.
I really don't want to ruin a top by writing on it with permanent marker, so, any suggestions on how to letter a marathon shirt, without ruining the shirt?

I have something in mind which is a little over the top, but could you go 26 miles with a flashing neon sandwich board on your back?

considering the way I finished at Twin Cities, I'm thinking something a little lighter.

Could you just write on one shirt and then keep it as your marathon shirt?
If you really really really don't want to write on it, you could write on yourself with markers like triathletes do.

Coach, if you look at my pic, it's a team shirt. I had it done at a shirt design/airbrush place. I brought in the coolmax shirt and they did the rest. It was a $26 fee, but I'll race in it a lot, so I didn't mind.
