'Member way back when they were all just good old "granola" bars? Well, after my excursion to GNC, I couldn't resist a return trip to scope the energy bar rack. So, not being able to decide, I bought one of just about everything. It's been a week of weird tasting. Gotta say, the harvest Powerbar which comes pretty close to a good old granola bar suited my pedestrian tastebuds the most. The Balance bars were egads, there was an adventure bar that was okay, and I've got a Pure Protein and Big100 left in the drawer. And some other unimpressionable ones I can't recall.

What's your fav?

I like the Clif bars, they taste like a cross between Oatmeal cookies and chewy granola bars. The chocolate chip are my favorite!

Gatorade bars are good too, they're kinda like rice krispie treats, texture wise.

The rest: puke

Apparently not. You are now the official RF.com energy bar product tester.

You are totally cracking me up.....go get some Clif's, I am telling you, they are good, and you can get them anywhere. Supermarket, bike shop, GNC, Vitamin World, EMS if you have one of them in the mall.

I don't know if Performance Bike has stores out there but they have really good prices on Clif bars. I think even Drug Emporium carries them now.

Okay.. On to round 2.

Clif - Now we're getting edible (choc almond fudge), but kinda like a huge chunky date, not sure on this one.

Luna - I know, I know the package says 'for women', but hey, I'm gonna try them all. (choc pecan pie).. Actually pretty good, but I have a sudden urge to change my hair color.

Zone Perfect - (choc carmel cluster) We have a winner! Actual chocolate taste and carmel chewies...mmm-mmmm. Finally, something that's gonna stay down Wink

It says 'for women' because in theory if you (170 lbs.) and your 110 lbs. wife (I guessing here) went out for a 5 mile run, she'd burn less calories than you so she'd require less calories to replenish what she burnt off. The only difference between a Luna bar and a Clif bar is the # of calories.

Pretty smart marketing huh?
