The Rumour Mill has started churning here. Layoffs (the first here) to be announced next week.
Hopefully they will offer me a good package...

I don't know. It wouldn't be the worst thing though. Between unemployment and taking my kids out of daycare, I would break even.
It is not much of a secret that I have been pursuing enemployment in the NYPD, so chances are that would be a great reason to let me go.
I am not too worried. I always seem to land on my feet (it's this sick talent that I have)

Good luck.
And thanks for shortening that darn NYC Marathon gif. My browser appreciates it!

It was a mini-physical with the NYPD, which went fine (I was a little concerned with the uncorrected vision test, but I was able to pass that, barely).
I have the psychological test tomorrow, starting at 6 a.m. It is 1,500 questions! I will do fine on it though. My English degree does come in handy on occasion.
The Fitness test is October 23, and it will be cake. Run 235 yards, jump a 6 ft and a 5 ft fence in under 3 minutes. Than I have to fire 16 shots from a 9mm pistol (not with live ammo, of course) , and hold it in a triangle for 1 minute, without hitting the sides.
If everything goes well, The ETA for the academy is July 2003.
