there's no laundry at my apartment and getting the clothes done has been a minor pita. my mom offered to do them once, and I took her up on that offer. Then I asked her once more and of course she said yes, but I don't want my mom to be my laundry service. a couple of times now I've gone to the laundromat and it feels like such a waste of time sitting there waiting for the clothes to be done. SO I decided to put on the running clothes, head for the laundromat, get things started then take off for a run. The guy "minding" the place told me to run 2 miles for him last night! It was kinda fubby last night because now I've got this reputation for running while my clothes are washing and it was like the topic of conversation for the customers.

Our son sent a note last night from college...

"Can you or Mom put an extra $30 in my checking account. I'm running out of clean clothes, and I'm going to need $20 to do the laundry."

Shocked

I saw his room. That makes absolute sense. And it's been this long without doing laundry? Your son is learning the fine art of frugal clothing wearing.

It's a given during tax season that when a delivery needs to be made to a client during tax season I generally throw it in my back pack and "run it up there" on my lunch hour.

Got that right. But remember, he proudly wears the monicker of "clothes whore" (not "horse") for a reason.

I'm in the same boat Keltic. Since my parents live close, I run over to their place to do laundry and in exchange I buy the soap and bleach. I still haven't gotten the art of folding laundry down very well. When I fold, the clothes look already worn.....

my clothes are looking better and now take less ironing. the table at the laundromat makes folding much easier and I get my shirts from the dryer to the hangers pretty quickly so the wrinkles fall out.

That's a great plan, Steve! Things ironed themselves out nicely, and you come out smelling like Tide. Good idea about mom, too... better to make a clean break where laundry is concerned.

Sure it is, if you're looking for a meaningful relationship with a fluffy 48-year-old divorcee with 8 kids and back alimony/child-support due!

and a chick who can't afford a washer and dryer certainly can't afford to support you in the style that you want! Wink

So how many miles can you get done during a wash cycle versus the dryer? Razz

..seems like the times I've used the laundrymat on vacation and such, it's about a dang hour and a couple bucks to dry a load.. you're mileage is gonna skyrocket!

so far I've just done the run on the wash cycle and it lasts 20-30 minutes. it would be better to run during the dry cycle of at least 40 minutes, but then I'd be sweating all over my dry, clean clothes as I folded them.
