Does anybody know the distances for the outside lanes on a track? Lane 1 is 400M, but what would it be for the other lanes if running them with out the offset?

Brewer, the rough calculation I have used is to add a metre per lap depending on which lane you are running in.
Normally each lane is 1 metre wide. (not always the case)
ie. lane 3 = 403metres per lap. lane 5 = 405metres per lap lane 8 = 408 metres per lap.
I'm too sure that this is 100% accurate but its pretty near on the money.

I'm no mathlete, but I do have AutoCAD installed on my work computers.
I drew a 400 meter circle (and I realize tracks aren't circular).
I offset every lane by 1 meter.
Each lane had a diameter that was 2 meters greater than the next.

Thanks guys! I actually found a great track down here in Monclova, Mex. Very well kept but running is only in the outside lanes. It looks like 40 meters more for lane 7 per lap, according to the line PH posted.
from that link each lap per lane is:
Lane 2 = 407 Meters
Lane 3 = 413M
Lane 4 = 420M
Lane 5 = 427M
Lane 6 = 434M
Lane 7 = 440M
Lane 8 = 447M

I don't know a 6-7M difference between the lanes sounds right to me. I really depends on the lane width.

I just drew it out in autocad. if I assume that the straigts are 100M in length and that the lane width is 1.08M (42") then the calculator is correct, it is about 6.8M more for every lane further away from the center, therefore, lane 8 would be about 54M
