You must resist! Wait until just before the holidays when they release the big box set to coincide with the 3rd movie!

Oh, I am. This is just a rental.....but with Netflix you can keep them as long as you want, so I can watch it 25 times before sending it back....
I prolly won't buy them til after the 3rd movie is out and get it all at once. The last box set is supposed to have director's cut footage that was not in the movies.
I want it all, baby!!!!!!

Probably picking it up tonight...and then the EE in November.
I can't imagine a box set of all 3 would have any more footage than will be included in the EE, or any more special features. *gollum*

Wow, LOTR really is BIG out there isn't it . I drive through "Hobbiton" about once a month as it is on the way to two towns that stage alot of running and cycling events. I took a picture of the signpost (it was the best I could do, okay ) last month, so when I can get the scanner to work I'll be taking orders for autographed copies .

We rented it on dvd last night. Excellent movie.
I bought the dvd for the first one when it came out, then had to turn around and buy the boxed set... so told hubby we'd be waiting to buy it this time, and he seems ok with that. He's a huge Tolkein addict. I'm not, so I ask a lot of questions and he was starting to get peeved with me about 40 minutes into the movie last night. LOL

I bought it last night, but I have to go back. Just so you know, my wife does all the important stuff in our relationship...I'm just kind of a slug. She buys all the movies, music, pays the bills, etc. I do the idiot stuff like drink beer (I buy it too...lo I couldn't trust her to buy the beer!!) and mow the lawn.
Anyhow, I was sent to buy the movie last night because she had to work late. Apparently I bought the wrong version. I got the full screen edition, which doesn't look near as cool as the widescreen edition on our rather large 65" TV we just bought this last year.
I guess that'll teach her to trust me with the really important tasks!!

Rache, you MUST post that pic when you get it scanned....that is TOO COOL!!!!!!!!!! I forgot a lot of it was filmed down there.
Oh, I am dying, I just cannot wait to see this again! I am also a huge Tolkien addict and had just finished reading the books again before the last movie came out. We saw it like 6 times in the theater and are planning an LOTR marathon this weekend since my roomie has the DVD for the Fellowship.
I also bought a museum replica of the Evenstar pendant that Arwen gives to Aragorn in the first movie--really awesome! I'm getting my roomie a replica of Gandalf's sword for his collection I think....shhhh...don't tell
