John Edwards was a good choice in my opinon.

I was quite impressed with Edwards in the earlier primary debates. He's young, decent looking, and a great speaker.

This is gonna swing some voters Kerry's way. Like it or not.

Despite the fact that the VP doesn't really do a whole lot, you're right, and that's sad.

Being an east-coast ticket is what I suspect will turn off a good many folks though.

Having someone as a veep doesn't mean a thing to me. Sure, i liked Edwards during the primaries and thought he seemed like a decent man, but most veeps don't do much unless the President gives him responsibilities.

My theory is that he a popular ticket requires good hair. I need to go refresh my memory of Edwards' hair.

is it really a point of great hair "style" or just the fact that they still have it? Kerry's hair looks thick, and Edwards looks like he's still in good shape. so if hair wins, then the Dems are in.

*guess I'll never be president Neutral

Yep, Edwards is the Democrats' way of saying they understand the soccer moms need to be included in the thought process. Plus it's how to get the South to forget Kerry is from MA.

Edward's hair is a hell of a lot better than Gephardt's. And the governor from Iowa won't fly b/c his name is too ethnic. So really, what choice is there?

Me.

Seriously: Some guy we haven't heard of. It doesn't need to be someone who was a candidate in the primaries.

Gman makes an excellent, if unintentional, point. How many of you, without Googling, can remember the name of Perot's runningmate? You might remember he was old or that he had a military background, or that he used the word "gridlock" to his detriment, but do you actually recall what his name was?
