Admiral Stockdale?

I was gonna go with John, but no matter.
While Perot ended up being a major third party candidate (though one who nobody thought had a realistic chance to win), we're more likely to remember the running mates of the big two than of any third party unless we are actively supporting that third party. It would be much easier to name the running mates of the losing party for the last several elections than to name a third party veep candidate.

Edwards or Gephart would have been non factors regardless. They both play towards dem type candidates anyway, trial lawyers and union types.
I don't see them swaying many votes that way.
Pretty rich ticket on both sides now. All four of them are multimillionaires.

Edwards is a self-made millionare, though.
Came up from nothing, and made something of himself.
All the analysts are saying he'll be the key factor in a lot of small towns.
I really like the guy. Don't like Kerry much, but I do like Edwards.
(plus, he's a tar heel fan, and hates Duke.)

Mark he made his money off the back of others. He did not start a business from nothing. He was an injury lawyer. I do not call that self made. He is likely an excellent trial attorney and give him all the credit for becoming rich but self made is not a good tag line.

He is self made in the sense that he came from a poor upbringing, put himself through undergrad and law school, and started his practice from the ground up. Unlike Bush who got where he is because of his father's political influence and piggy bank.

Once again, I find it nearly impossible to study a candidate without some sort of spin, either from the Democratic or Republican side. I've had enough of both sides, quite frankly. It ain't easy being an "Independent". But it sure is easy to NOT vote for Bush.

I doubt Hillary wanted the VP ticket...too much of a risk. Best case scenario for her is Bush wins and she runs for President next round.
How would that look in History Books President Bush, President Clinton, President Bush, President Clinton...
