My point is exactly what I said in my first post mega - I think some members of the Democratic party are glad/OK that Kerry lost - so that Hillary can make a run in 2008. (I wasn't passing judgment on whether or not America is ready to elect a woman or minority president.)

I seriously doubt Hillary will be the nominee. I think the Democrats are in a total rethinking mode. Hillary, while certainly popular in many circles, just brings too much baggage.

you could be right...but i think you are far overestimating this...why the hatred of Hillary anyway? I think it goes way beyond politics the way she is loathed by the right...
and once again, i'm not passing judgement on whether america is ready for a woman to be POTUS, as a democrat i am passing judgement on the fact that she will not be the next democrat nominee for the position...

i can tell you that there are a number of us who will be fighting for a very pragmatic choice next time around...if you read the article you'll see a couple of other names mentioned...Gov Bill Richardson, Gov Tom Vilsack, Edwards....the article also speculates there will be a big push in the party, (and i'll be part of that push here in the state of IA) to look outside of Washington and the East/Northeast for our next candidate...

The Democrats don't have one single person with the name recognition of Hillary Clinton. The Clintons still have immense political power with the national Democratic party.
If/when she wants the nomination, she will be Democratic Nominee #1.

well in my opinion you are so very wrong on this one...the democrats have a lot of soul searching to do over the next months, usually when that happens in one of the parties they don't pick someone out of their past so I'll wager you a bottle of your favorite beverage that the dems will not choose either Edwards or Hillary C.

You are on!
Bottle of favorite adult beverage that the Dems won't nominate John Edwards or Hillary Clinton in 2008! Hopefully, PH's server will still be operational by then.
