Just thought I would share some good news. As of today (exactly two days shy of a month since I started my training) I have lost a net 10 lbs and gained an unknown amount of muscle mass. The weight I use for reps during workout has almost doubled. Which is not hard to do when you start at almost nothing... Confused

Here is a link to my trainer...he said as a child he was ALWAYS on the pudgy side. Hard to believe by looking at him now. The guy is super friendly and a great motivator. He knows EXACTLY where to lead my body week to week to see the results I'm looking for. We sat down for over an hour talking about the goals I had for myself. Not looking for a bodybuilder physique...just long and lean....like the good ol' days. Very Happy

I would reccommend ANYONE just starting out in the TRI world to spend the money and hire a professional to strengthen their bodies. (You can pay for it with the money you save from not eating at McDnalds twice a day) Wink In just one month my strength has gone up so has my muscle endurance...and my knees are alot stronger. I'm sure I'll cut his sessions back in 6-8 months..but for now he keeps me from being so injury prone.

Good to hear, man. Glad that the training is working so well for you. Just between you and RR, I'm glad you're not going for Mr. Smith's physique -- impressive, but freaky-looking on runners. :)

I was suprised to hear that he puts in about 15-20 miles a week running.

The other thing I have learned is that these guys DO NOT look like that during the rest of the year. That is a once a year look helped along by a little dehydration and a lot more make-up/lighting. Still impressive, if that's what you're in to.

that's great news. can you tell us what type of exercises he was giving you to strengthen your knees? I was hoping biking would do this for me. I've had trouble with miniscal tears in the past. Sad
