Should have started recording these earlier:-
on Paula Radcliffe. "She's looking a little bit worse than she looks normaly, which is bad"
"this will be a race from start to finish"
"you have to work hard in an olympic final"
"Isn't it fantastic to see a white American win a sprint race"???!!??!!
"he is hoping for olympic gold"
"his hope for olympic gold is over for a year"
And my all time favourite,- while the feild is being introduced for the
4 * 400m final.
"You can't look past the Americans (accompanied by a camera shot looking past the USA into lane 3 ) There the Nigerians.... but you can't look past the Americans"

Football commentators just kill me. They say crap like that all the time - particularly John Madden.
Things like "they have to get these points to win," etc. Totally kills me!

Bob Costas cracked me up. It was pretty apparent he didn't want to be doing he commentating, so some of his comments, however subtly disparaging, were classic.

True. I was thinking about that during the marathon coverage and how Meb had a serious shot at Gold, but someone like Alan Culpepper had to only hope that the race would be slow enough so that he could still be there at the end and couldn't have seriously expected gold going into the race.
