Posted: 04/24/03 - 09:22 Post subject: Job update: Interview tomorrow
Hey gang,
a little more of an update. Last week I posted I had applied for two jobs. I got a rejection letter for the PE job on Monday. That's OK, I didn't wanna teach PE anyway.
However, I have an interview for the social studies job I applied for tomorrow at 1pm! They called me yesterday afternoon. So keep your fingers crossed, this could be a great opportunity for me.
(I have the luxury of not taking this job if I dont want to)
The Principal told me that they had over 50 applicants, and that they were interviewing 5 people. So I guess I made the first cut. The other thing I should mention here is: It's my former High School ! I would be replacing the guy who was my Social Studies teacher.

You'd rather teach social studies instead of PE? Call me, we need to talk about your priorities.

Brief hijack: How did you guys play dodgeball? Mr Aire and I were talking about this and his version sounded a lot more fun (and safe and less traumatic) than mine. In our school, half of our class would line up with our backs against a brick wall while our abusers,er, opponents tried to pick us off with those horrible huge red bouncy balls that left some serious rubber burn marks.
Colin and BC didn't play this way. They got to move around. No wonder I have such bad memories of PE.
Hijack over.

Wehn we played dodgeball, 2 teams slipt the basketball court in half down the mid-court line and then we threw balls at each other. If you got hit with a ball you were out. Catching the ball that was thrown at you got the other person out. Man I loved dodgeball. Almost enough to go back to college and get a degree so I could be a PE teacher.
