the mouse that is... My mom spotted him roaming around in our backyard and then he disappeared into the flower beds...A trap has been set to catch him... Perhaps we should get Tom

Mice eat bulbs? I would think that's more squirrels or moles maybe....

Yep, apparently this one does love bulbs. 2 springs ago we had a major gopher infestation in our backyard. My mom's tulip bulbs were gone and there were these burrows with mounds of earth at their entrances which led up somewhere near the flower beds. Our neighbor also had the same problem so we suspected that a network of gopher tunnels and gophers was at work.
