For Atlanta area runners there are two very good Peachtree Road Race tuneups coming in June.

The Jacob Harris 8k will be June 4 at the Marcus Jewish Center off Tilly Mill Road.

The U.S. Army is celebrating it's 231st birthday with a 10k/5k race June 10 in College Park and East Point.

5k starts in East Point, but both races finish in Ft. McPherson. $15.00 for your choice of race which goes to support a great bunch of men and women.

Both races are $15,00 each and you can register or find more information at active.com for either event. I can tell from past experience the Harris Jacobs course is mostly flat. The Hooah course I haven't run before but from the course description it doesn't sound too hilly. However, bear in mind this is Atlanta and some hills are the norm.

Edited to add a correction: The Harris Jacob's race is now a 4 miler rather than an 8k. A little downer for me but I'm sure the event itself has the same great amenities as in the past - great food, encouragement and lots of door prizes - some very nice.
