The race was planned to be a 5 mile or 10 mile run on the Jacksonville beaches depending on your level of masochism.
The race was delayed about 15 minutes due to weather and then they went ahead and cancelled the 10 mile portion so I was a little disappointed. At least I got a weekend run in!
My splits were
1:6:48 I have to stop starting at my 5K Pace!!!!!
2: 7:29
3: 8.11
4: 7.55
5: 7:17
total: 37:40

Good job, Eric!
Did you guys run on the beach? On the sand? You're a better man than I.

Oh, too bad about your race being cancelled, but you did a great job on the 5-miler! You made the Super Acquaintances proud.

So how was the weather?

It was on the Sand. It was a 2 and half mile run north and then 2 and half mile run south. If the 10 miler was being run also you would continue south for another 2 1/2 miles past the 5 mile marker, turn around and head north for 2 and 1/2 to finish the course.
Hopefully one of these races I will learn to not start out so fast so I am stuck trying to hang on at the end. Oh Well there is always the Gate Run in a couple of weeks.

Running on the sand is no easy task, and you came through beautifully.

Sub 7 on the first mile in the sand, ugghh!! Nice race though, you had enough in the tank to take it home the last mile. Good luck with that next one.
