I'm going to Portland next weekend for 4 days, Sat - Tues. I have nothing to do on Sat or Sunday so I'm looking for any suggestions on ways to entertain myself. anyone know of things to see or do in the Portland, OR area? I'll be staying downtown but will have a rental car.

I've never been to Portland, but since I play a travel agent on tv...(just kidding)

I did find this:

Oregon Museum of Science and Industry . It even has an IMAX.

I have always wanted to go to Oregon--let us know about it when you get back!

Apparently there is a nice zoo and botanical gardens. There are also some funky streets to people watch, shop and eat. There is also a Saturday Market.

Enjoy!

thanks! Might check that out. Still waiting on Shelf I think....if I recall correctly, he was the one who mentioned in an earlier thread that he'd lived there at one time.

Yes, Shelf is our resident Portland expert. I've only been there once but I know there's some great running down by the waterfront. I know last year RW did a great article on Portland, I'll see if I still have it at home and see if there's anything that might be useful to you.
