I just passed out the jingle bells to the first graders and we sang "Jingle Bells" for the first time this season! They are wound up now! Their classroom teacher will be so happy with me

So fess up. you put all their names on a dart board and fire away don't you? I couldn't even imaging trying to grade that many kids...
I'd be like "okay, now, kids with names starting with 'L'...they all get B's"

sorry, i don't allow the "wrong" words. I tell them they can sing those at home, or on the bus, or anywhere else but around me! Sheesh, I sang those words 30 years ago. I tell them that after 30 years the words just aren't that funny anymore.

I don't know what it is like dealing with a classroom of kids this time of year, but I do remember being one of those kids this time of year. I remember that we did a lot of fun stuff; holiday crafts and music, classroom parties and gift exchanges, a holiday assembly, and then a nice vacation!
Enjoy it Steve. I'm sure the kids are!

after they learn it the right way (without the extra's) then I do let them add "like a light bulb, like Pinocchio" etc. but they have to prove they know the difference between what's original and what isn't.

I love singing Christmas carols. I used to start begging my mom
around the first of November to get the Christmas albums out.
Of course she refused to do it until after Thanksgiving. I would
sing along with them over and over and over.
singing might not be the right word
