It actually happened on Monday, but I didn't hear back from my atty until this morning. I should get the paperwork in the mail late next week or early the following week, at which time I will get to do a lot of fun stuff, like change my name on everything, get auto and health insurance (egads -- my budget is going to go to hell I think).
This really is a great thing. JM and I have big plans for our future. Now all we need is for him to get custody of Marie, and then we can start planning and saving for our (hopefully) summer '07 nuptials.
Life.Is.Great!!!

Nah, but could we use Brie?
FTR, JM is for John Matthew, but since Kramer is a John, it is easier to refer to him by his initials, so as to not confuse those who are easily confused (because taken in proper context, IMO, it is almost always clear to which John I am referring).

Yeah, but keep in mind that the married thing is about 16 months down the road.
If I knew two people had been involved for just about 5 months and were talking about marriage, I'd probably be skeptical too. But we're both adults, we've both had terrible relationships, so we can see what a good relationship looks like. If you were here, if you saw how good this is, you wouldn't wonder at all. He truly is the greatest man, boyfriend, friend, and father-figure. I still cannot believe my luck.
And he's NOT perfect -- and he knows that I'm not either. We have issues. The great thing is, we work through them. It would be crazy for either of us to walk away because we are so good to and for each other. So yes, I'm keeping him!!!

Congrats!
And remember, you know you best! It could be 5 minutes or 5 months. You know when it's right.

Generally speaking, they are great. Report cards came Tuesday, Will had straight As, Libby had As, Bs, and 1C, and Jacob is getting all S's which means he's doing what he's supposed to be doing. Everyone is happy and healthy. Love school, love their friends, having a good time.
With regard to JM, the boys absolutely 100% love him. They both tell me how nice he is, how much fun he is. Libby, OTOH, it depends on her mood.
It's hit and miss with her sometimes, but she doesn't ever not like him, she just is a little cheeky sometimes. She does love his daughter, and almost every weekend he has Marie, she stays the night with them and the girls lock themselves in Marie's room and do the anime/music/gossip thing. They are like close sisters, so that is a great thing. She may tolerate JM if only for Marie, and we're ok with that. LOL.
The whole blended family thing isn't going to be all sunshine and daisies, but for the most part, I think we'll all get along well under one roof. Waiting until next summer I think is a good idea because it gives the kids that much longer to get to know him and feel secure.

OK now you need to get out there and watch this movie:
Based on Dwight Taylor and Cole Porter's play of the same name, The Gay Divorcee centers on Mimi (Ginger Rogers), a woman seeking a divorce from her husband. Mimi travels to an English seaside resort, pursued by the love-stricken Guy (Fred Astaire), whom she mistakes for the hired correspondent in her divorce case.
Among the many musical numbers featured are "Night and Day," the only song from the original Broadway musical included in the film, and "The Continental," which won the first ever Academy Award for Best Song. Directed by Mark Sandrich, the film features supporting performances by Alice Brady and Edward Everett Horton.
