It's great when customer service does their job

In an effort to completely humiliate me, The Paramedic purchased an official race photo of me from Broad Street (though to his credit, it's the only race photo where I don't look like a stuffed sausage and/or like I'm about to die). Anyhoo, we got the 8x10 three weeks ago and the top of my head was lopped off. Not good for $22.

So I emailed them and emailed them and emailed them to no avail. Just when I was getting ready to call my CC company to reverse the charge, we got an email from them apologizing for the bad crop job, which was done by machine. They're sending me a new manually cropped 8x10 plus a bonus 5x7 for our trouble!

Amazing how good I feel when someone actually does their job, and does it correctly. Interesting commentary on how little I expect from customer service these days, no?

Good customer service is a reason I'll go back to the same place even if the price is somewhat higher. It's amazing that they threw in the 5x7 because how do they get your repeat business? It was the race that selected their service, not you. You're hostage to their company if you want a picture.

Customer service is a hard job. I used to be a CSR in a call center.
