Go ahead. Some of us actually have senses of humor and can point and laugh at both sides as opposed to just whining about how "our" side gets picked on all the time.

Post away, that thread over at CR with mageline and whoever it was going at it, DogMom I think, with all the Bush/Kerry pics was a riot.

I have no problem laughing at the picture; I think it would make a great "caption this". Though the complaints that I received about my recent avatar would suggest that not everyone here is so willing to laugh at both sides.

I'd think some humor is what we need in this election

The thing about your avatar--(although I didn't care one way or the other)A joke is funny once, maybe twice. But when you hear it/see it over and over it starts becoming an insult--especially if it is denigrating to someone.

My momma always said: never make fun of something someone can't change. Whether that be height, skin color, culture, intellect, etc.

I don't disagree, which is why I changed it. But I don't believe that those who asked me change it asked me because they don't like avatars that denigrate people. I think they didn't like an avatar that denigrated their someone.

edited to add my contribution for the other side.

I hardly see the connection between your first point, directed at a politically inspired avatar, and the second point, directed at physical characteristics/genetics. I also fail to see how a joke when repeated becomes an insult; that's quite a stretch. I also can't believe people asked CB to change her avatar. How utterly ridiculous. If you don't see it it still exists. Confused
